cider i up boi

it was one of those phone calls, my mate rich phones me up ‘know anyone who can build me a barn…’ got to be done really isn’t it, best work out how, and find a bigger workshop. This was the last project we did back in the west country before moving to West Wales

design

It’s got to be doug fir, and no curvy bit’s, that was the brief

timber

our mate Simon felled and milled the trees for this one, my mate Ed delivered the timber to the shop, and together with rich we set about agreeing on the design and construction methods

workshop

this project wasn’t possible to do in our old woods, so we rented a WWII spitfire factory, it was long, thin, flat and very cold, but due to the flatness it was easy to move the massive timbers about just using a timber trolley and an engine crane, the drawing just about squeezed in, apart from x-frame 6 which had to be framed in the yard
